Trini Kenny is a batik artist working and living in Kilkenny, Ireland.

She has exhibited locally and nationally but mainly works to commission.

"Although I qualified as a painter I have spent the last two decades exploring the medium of Batik as a means of expression. My themes vary from still lives of everyday objects to themes connected to home and belonging.

I am passionate about batik and the batik process.

Coming from a painting background I like to create large areas of flat colour and contrast them with areas of pattern, traditional stamping, detailed tjanting, natural and forced cracking, dry was brush strokes and even etching tools.

The possibilities are endless and I'm only scratcing the surface".
